Summary
Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to construct, operate, and maintain, wholly within the United States, as part of the Rio Grande Federal irrigation project, New Mexico-Texas, extensions of the American Canal at El Paso, Texas, totaling approximately thirteen miles in length, in accordance with the report by the Bureau of Reclamation, Department of the Interior, designated as "Report on a Modified 'G' Plan for American Canal Extension as a Part of the Chamizal Settlement, United States and Mexico", dated June 1965. Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to defray such costs as may accrue to the United States arising out of the construction, operations, and maintenance of such canal extensions. Provides that the construction costs shall be shared on an equal basis by the Federal Government and the users of the El Paso County Water Improvement District Numbered 1.
