Summary
Provides that mental defectives charged with offenses against the United States shall be committed to the custody of State or local authorities for hospitalization. Requires such authorities to notify the United States attorney at least five days prior to the release of any such persons. Provides that, if this requirement cannot be met, the court may commit the accused to the custody of the Attorney General. (Amends 18 U.S.C. 313)
