A bill to amend title 38 of the United States Code in order to extend under certain circumstances the delimiting period for completing veterans' education programs.

Summary

Permits veterans receiving veterans' educational assistance benefits while pursuing a program of education recognized by the Veterans' Administration to continue to receive such assistance at the close of the present ten-year delimiting period until whichever of the following first occur: (1) the veteran fails to progress in the program; (2) the veteran fails to pursue the program on the same basis that he was pursuing the program at the close of the ten-year period, for any reason other than a reason beyond his control; (3) the veteran completes the program; or (4) the veteran exhausts the educational assistance to which he is entitled. Makes the provisions of this Act effective on May 31, 1976. (Amends 38 U.S.C. 1662)
