Summary

Authorizes and directs the Secretary of the Army, acting through the Chief of Engineers, to design and construct a flood retarding dam at full Federal expense on the Pearl River in the vicinity of Shoccoe, Mississippi. Requires non-Federal interests to agree, prior to construction of the dam, to: (1) hold the United States free from damages due to the construction and operation of the dam; and (2) operate and maintain the dam in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary.
