Summary
Economic Opportunity Act Amendments - Establishes in the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare the Office of Economic Opportunity. States that the Office shall be headed by an Assistant Secretary who shall be appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate. Provides that the administration of the Office shall be subject to the supervision and direction of the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare. Provides for the extension of specified programs under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, including urban and rural community action programs, day care projects, and programs for community economic development. Authorizes appropriations of $1,440,000,000 for each of the fiscal years 1975, and 1976, and 1977.
