Summary

National Environmental Policy Institute Act - Authorizes the creation of a nonprofit corporation to be named the National Environmental Policy Institute to analyze, integrate, and evaluate the growing body of environmental research now underway to develop in a systematic and critical manner the alternatives such research presents for the development of new governmental policies and programs, and to restructure such existing policies and programs. States that the Institute shall have an eleven-member Board of Directors, and specifies the composition of the Board. States that the Institute shall have the powers conferred upon a nonprofit organization by the District of Columbia Nonprofit Corporation Act, and the power to obtain grants and accept voluntary services from specified sources. Authorizes to be appropriated for the expenses of the Institute $10,000,000 for each fiscal year from 1974 through 1978, in addition to contributions from Federal sources received during such period, except that such contributions may not exceed $5,000,000. Provides for the accounts of the Institute to be audited annually by independent certified public accountants.
