Summary
Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to acquire specified lands in Florida (in the vicinity of Thomas Creek, Fort George Island, and the Nassau River Valley) to commemorate the more than two hundred years of America's colonial frontier history and to preserve ecologically important areas included therein by constituting and creating the Colonial Frontiers National Memorial. Directs the Secretary to conduct historical, archeological, ecological, and other investigations of the lands acquired to prepare a plan for the permanent preservation and exhibition of their historial and other features to the public. Provides that in the event the Secreatry determines the area would be more suitably administered as a State facility, he is authorized to transfer title to the State of Florida. Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act, not to exceed $500,000.
