Summary
Academic Achievement Enhancement Act - Authorizes the Secretary of Education to provide bonus awards to each eligible local educational agency (LEA) that has adopted or adopts a policy (meeting specified requirements) to end social promotion. Requires LEAs to use bonus awards to supplement the intervention and support programs for students identified as being at risk for failing, which may include: (1) double-dose instruction; (2) weekend classes; (3) summer school classes; (4) extended day programs; and (5) tutoring.
