Summary

Provides for enforcement of safety and health standards for metal and nonmetallic mines under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. Repeals the Federal Metal and Nonmetallic Mines Safety Act. States that each health and safety standard promulgated by the Federal Metal and Nonmetallic Mines Safety Act which is in effect on the effective date of this Act shall be deemed to be an occupational safety or health standard promulgated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
