Summary

Amends title II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act to require that funeral homes and other persons who dispose of the remains of deceased individuals be paid ten dollars by the Secretary of Health and Human Services if they notify the Secretary of an individual's death within three business days after the death certificate has been filed. Provides that criminal fines shall apply to persons who dispose of the remains of deceased individuals and intentionally fail to notify the Secretary as provided under this Act on more than four occasions.
