To require the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to develop and provide for the distribution of an educational curriculum in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight.

Summary

(Sec. 219) Directs the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, in coordination with the Secretary of Education, to: (1) develop and provide for the distribution of an age- appropriate educational curriculum on the history of flight, the contribution of flight to global development in the 20th century, the practical benefits of aeronautics and space flight to society, the scientific and mathematical principles used in flight, and any other topics considered appropriate for use in the 2000-2001 academic year and thereafter at the kindergarten, elementary, and secondary levels in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight; (2) integrate into such educational curriculum plans for the development of the Mars plane; and (3) report to the House Science Committee and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation on such activities.
