Summary

Allows veterans pursuing a work-study program through the Department of Veterans Affairs to perform any activity that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs determines to be appropriate with respect to: (1) a Federal department or agency; (2) an institution of higher learning; or (3) a community service program. Authorizes a participating individual to elect to be paid a partial payment in advance for the performance of such activities. (Current law requires such individuals to be paid in advance.) Authorizes the Secretary to pay a work-study allowance of up to ten percent more than the minimum hourly wage. Prohibits such allowance from being used to fund any political activity.
