Summary
Metric Usage Act of 1987 - Amends the Metric Conversion Act of 1975 to make the metric system the preferred system of weights and measures for U.S. trade and commerce, requiring its use for Federal business purposes. Requires Federal agencies to report annually to the Congress on their implementation of the metric system. Directs the Comptroller General to report to the Congress at the end of FY 1992 on the implementation of this Act.
