Summary
Banking Confidence Act of 1985 - Amends the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, the National Housing Act, and the Federal Credit Union Act to prohibit, two years after the enactment of this Act: (1) the provision of Federal deposit insurance for the deposits of any institution which is engaged in business and the deposits of which either are not insured or are insured by a State-operated or privately-operated insurance fund; and (2) the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System or any Federal Reserve bank from providing any financial assistance to such an institution.
