To amend title 10, United States Code, to extend eligibility to use the military health care system and commissary stores to an unremarried former spouse of a member of the uniformed services if the member performed at least 20 years of service which is creditable in determining the member's eligibility for retired pay and the former spouse was married to the member for a period of at least 17 years during those years of service.

Summary

Amends the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS) to extend eligibility for CHAMPUS medical care and services to an unremarried former spouse of a member or former member of the uniformed services who performed at least 20 years of retirement-creditable service. Requires the unremarried former spouse to have been married to the member or former member for at least 17 years during the member's creditable service on the date of the final decree of dissolution. Requires such an unremarried former spouse whose date of final decree of dissolution occurs before the enactment of this Act to apply for such health care benefits and services within one year after this Act's enactment.
