Summary

Amends the provision of the Gun Control Act of 1968 imposing penalties for the use of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes to (1) permit Federal courts to impose an additional term of imprisonment upon anyone using or carrying a firearm during the commission of a felony which may be prosecuted in a Federal court, (2) require Federal courts to impose such a sentence for a second or subsequent such conviction, and (3) classify felons using or carrying firearms as dangerous special offenders.
