Summary
Older Persons Comprehensive Counseling Assistance Act of 1979 - Amends the Older Americans Act of 1965 to direct the Commissioner of the Administration on Aging to make grants to States with approved plans for comprehensive counseling assistance services for the elderly. Directs the Commissioner to carry out: (1) a program to train and retrain counseling personnel to meet the needs of the elderly; (2) demonstration and evaluation projects; and (3) information collection, analysis, and dissemination through the National Information Resource Clearing House for the Aging.
