Summary

Steel Import Stabilization Improvement Act - Extends the Steel Import Stabilization Act for an additional three-year period. Declares that nothing shall prohibit the Secretary of Commerce from permitting the importation of steel products in excess of the quantitative limitations imposed under any bilateral arrangement where the Secretary determines that a condition of short supply or an economic emergency related to market demand exists. Declares that a written request by domestic producers that the Secretary permit the importation of additional quantities of such products within a category shall be treated as approved unless the Secretary disapproves the request before: (1) the 30th day after it is received; or (2) under specified conditions, the 15th day after receipt.
