Summary
Next Generation Automobile Research and Development Act - Directs the Secretary of Transportation to establish a research advisory committee to provide advice and recommendations on the automotive technology research program carried out under this Act. Requires the Secretary to undertake a research and development program to: (1) develop automotive technologies to enable the U.S. automotive industry to become the world leader in new technology; and (2) conduct research that would enhance U.S. competitiveness and speed the commercial adoption of specified automotive technologies. Authorizes the Secretary to make grants to universities or other research organizations for conducting such research and development activities.
