Summary

Vegetation Management Reform Act of 1981 - Requires the Secretaries of Agriculture and Interior to give preference to vegetation control methods (on public forest lands) that: (1) are cost-efficient; (2) provide the maximum number of jobs; and (3) whenever economical, are alternatives to aerial herbicide spraying. Requires: (1) a certificate of need before beginning any vegetation control; (2) a certificate of noncontamination before beginning aerial herbicide spraying; and (3) the suspension of any such spraying program upon the Environmental Protection Agency's request.
