Summary
Radioactive Materials Transportation Protection Act of 1985 - Amends the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act to direct the Secretary of Transportation, when route determinations are made for the shipment of such material, to file an environmental impact statement which includes consideration of alternative modes of transporting a controlled quantity of radioactive materials into or through a high-density metropolitan area. Requires the Secretary to include the use of barges when considering such alternative modes of transportation. Applies the alternative transportation modes requirement to route determinations made after January 19, 1981.
