Summary
Amends the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964 to authorize the Secretary of Transportation to make grants for the purpose of reducing the noise associated with rail mass transportation systems in urbanized areas which were operational before 1950. Authorizes appropriations in specified amounts for each of the fiscal years 1980 through 1984 to carry out such grant program. Authorizes appropriations in specified amounts for each of the fiscal years 1980 through 1984 for research, development, and demonstration projects to reduce the noise associated with urban mass transportation systems.
