Summary

Telephone Solicitation Privacy Protection Act of 1987 - Requires the Federal Communications Commission to prescribe regulations to: (1) prohibit the making of any business or charitable solicitation to residential telephone customers between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m.; (2) establish procedures for enforcing that prohibition; and (3) prescribe penalties for violations. Requires the FCC to conduct an inquiry into methods by which residential telephone customers may curtail or refuse to accept the receipt of business or charitable solicitations, including methods: (1) providing tonal or visual signals to indicate that an incoming call is a business or charitable solicitation; and (2) permitting customers to deny solicitors access to their phones.
