Summary

Flood Insurance Reform and Relief Act of 1993 - Amends the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 to: (1) limit structural elevation requirements (requiring structures in flood zones to be elevated above the normal flood level) to those structures sustaining damage for which the repair costs would equal or exceed 75 percent of their original value; (2) raise to specified amounts the maximum flood insurance that may be carried under the national flood insurance program for residential and nonresidential properties and contents; (3) eliminate a current ceiling on required minimum coverage amounts; and (4) provide for the effective date of new contracts for flood insurance coverage entered into on or after July 15, 1993.
