Federal Jennifer Act

Summary

Federal Jennifer Act - Amends the Federal criminal code to provide that the maximum term of imprisonment for an interstate stalking offense where the victim is under 16 years old shall be twice the term otherwise provided. Expresses the sense of Congress that each State should have in effect by January 1, 2003, a law that makes stalking a minor under 16 years old a crime which does not have as one if its elements actual physical harm or contact. Directs the Attorney General to prepare a model statute, based upon the Florida Jennifer Act, for use by any State and any U.S. district, commonwealth, territory, or possession which does not have substantially similar statutory provisions.
