Anti-Drug Trafficking Act of 1989

Summary

Anti-Drug Trafficking Act of 1989 - Prohibits: (1) the United States from providing assistance to the government of any drug-trafficking country; and (2) aircraft of a foreign air carrier of any such country from using any landing area regulated, controlled, or administered by the Federal Government. Authorizes: (1) the Secretary of Defense to use personnel and equipment of the Department of Defense to detect and monitor, and to assist any Federal agency in detecting and monitoring, the transit of illegal drugs into the United States; and (2) the head of any Federal agency, for any bona fide law enforcement purpose, to exchange records and information relating to drug-trafficking and drug-trafficking countries with State or local law enforcement officials.
