Summary
National Professions Foundation Act - Establishes the National Professions Foundation as an independent foundation within the executive department. Stipulates that such Foundation shall have the authority to: (1) prescribe rules; (2) make contracts; (3) make payments; (4) utilize the services of uncompensated personnel; and (5) acquire and dispose of real and personal property. States that such Foundation's functions shall include establishing a coordinated multiprofessional effort to assess national problems and develop approaches and solutions through: (1) coordination of government, industry, academic, and professional efforts; (2) seminars and lectures; (3) exchange programs between American professionals and their foreign counterparts; (4) assisting women and minorities to enter the professions; (5) scholarships and graduate fellowships to United States citizens for the study of the public professions; (6) assistance for financing libraries and other facilities relating to the professions at educational institutions; and (7) serving as a clearinghouse for information regarding the professions. Requires the Foundation to submit annual reports to the Congress.
