Summary

Establishes an office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Equal Opportunity within the Department of Defense to develop and supervise policies and programs to eliminate discrimination, to promote affirmative action, and to insure equal opportunity and treatment within the Department of Defense and within the work forces of contractors for the Department. Transfers specified functions of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs and of the Commander, Defense Contract Supply Agency which relate to equal employment opportunity to the new Assistant Secretary. (Amends 10 U.S.C. 136)
