Summary

Malt Beverage Interbrand Competition Act of 1989 - Declares that antitrust laws shall not prohibit any importer, brewer, trademark owner, or trademark licensee of a trademarked malt beverage from entering into or carrying out an agreement which grants a wholesale distributor the exclusive right to sell such beverage within any defined geographic area of a State or limits such distributor to the distribution and sale of such beverage only for ultimate resale to consumers in such area, provided that such beverage has substantial and effective competition within the relevant market.
