Summary

National Dairy Research Institute Act of 1985 - Amends the Agricultural Act of 1949 to reduce the authorized April 1, 1985, milk price support reduction from 50 cents per hundredweight to 35 cents per hundredweight. States that the Secretary of Agriculture may announce a further 15 cents per hundredweight reduction to take effect on October 1, 1985. Requires the Secretary to prescribe a 15 cents per hundredweight assessment through the end of FY 1985 if such April 1, 1985, price support reduction is imposed. Designates such funds for the National Dairy Research Endowment Institute created by this Act. Amends the Dairy Production Stabilization Act of 1983 to create the National Dairy Research Endowment Institute to provide a permanent funding system for market expansion research.
