Summary
Inspector General Act Amendments of 1983 - Amends the Inspector General Act of 1978 to establish an Office of Inspector General in the Departments of Justice and Treasury. Transfers to such Office the functions of specified existing offices of such Departments. Conforms the Offices of Inspector General of the Departments of Energy and Health and Human Services to such Act. Authorizes each Inspector General, in carrying out the provisions of such Act, to administer to or take from any person an oath, affirmation, or affidavit, whenever necessary to perform functions assigned by such Act. Fixes the pay of all Inspectors General at level IV of the Executive Schedule.
