Summary
Trade Relations Assessment Act - Directs the International Trade Commission to make an annual assessment of the free-trade status of each country that is a Contracting Party to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade in order to determine the extent to which each country: (1) opens its market to U.S. goods and services; and (2) fairly trades its goods and services in the international trading system. Sets forth specified sanctions against countries found to have denied access to its markets, including: (1) suspension of benefits under the Generalized System of Preferences; (2) opposition to loans by multilateral development banks; and (3) increased tariffs on such country's goods.
