Summary

Teacher Recruitment and Retention Act of 2005 - Amends the Teacher-Taxpayer Protection Act of 2004 to make applicable to all eligible teachers in mathematics, science, and special education certain additional amounts of student loan forgiveness. (Current law makes such additional amounts applicable only with respect to those who are new borrowers on or after October 1, 1998, and before October 1, 2005.) Amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to treat certain speech-language pathologists as special education teachers for purposes of student loan forgiveness under the Federal Family Education Loan program.
