Summary

Permits the crediting of employment time by National Guard technicians for civil service retirement purposes where such employment was prior to the effective date of the National Guard Technicians Act of 1968. Revises the schedule for deposits for periods of creditable service for such purposes. Permits the crediting of employment time prior to the effective date of such Act for purposes of Federal employees' death and disability compensation, tenure, and status. Directs the Civil Service Commission to issue regulations offering optional procedures for deposits under this act. Requires the recomputation of Service credit for former employees. (Amends 5 U.S.C. 8332(b), 8334(c), 8339).
