A bill to amend the Act of May 27, 1955, to increase the effectiveness of domestic fire fighting forces and to ensure prompt and effective control of wildfires on Federal lands by permitting the use of fire fighting forces of foreign nations and the reimbursement of such forces for costs incurred in fighting wildfires throughout the United States, and for other purposes.

Summary

Amends Federal law relating to fire protection to permit a U.S. agency with fire protection duties to enter into reciprocal fire protection agreements with any fire organization (including foreign organizations) for mutual aid in fire protection. (Current law permits an agency to form a reciprocal agreement only with an organization within the vicinity of the property protected by the agency).
