Summary
Department of Veterans Affairs Overpayment Administration Improvement Act of 2002 - Extends the deadline for application for a waiver of recovery of claims of overpayment of veterans' benefits to180 days from the date of final determination of the overpayment amount, if such date is later than the date (current deadline) that is 180 days from the date of payee notification of the indebtedness by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Authorizes the Secretary to waive recovery of such overpayment if recovery would impede the efficient and effective administration of veterans' benefits due to the small amount involved and the costs of assessing and collecting such amount.
