Summary

National Professions Foundation Act - Establishes the National Professions Foundation as an independent foundation within the Executive branch. States that the Foundation's functions shall include establishing a coordinated multiprofessional effort to assess national problems and develop approaches and solutions through: (1) coordination of government, industry, academic, and professional efforts; (2) seminars and lectures; (3) exchange programs between American professionals and their foreign counterparts; (4) assisting women and minorities to enter the professions; (5) scholarships and graduate fellowships to United States citizens for the study of the public professions; (6) assistance for financing libraries and other facilities relating to the professions at educational institutions; and (7) serving as a clearinghouse for information regarding the professions. Requires the Foundation to submit annual reports to the Congress. Authorizes appropriations in specified amounts for fiscal years 1982 through 1986 to carry out provisions for the functions of the Foundation. Authorizes appropriations to carry out all other provisions of this Act.
