Summary

National Emergency Family Locator Act - Directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish within the Department the National Family Locator System to enable: (1) individuals displaced by an emergency to provide to the Department their names and locations and any other relevant information using the telephone, the Internet, and other appropriate means; and (2) the Department to compile such information and provide it to the family members of such individuals and law enforcement officials. Directs the Secretary to conduct a public outreach program through public school districts to educate families on how to create a family preparedness plan for actions to take in the event of a disaster in which family members are separated.
