Summary

National Presidential Direct Primary Election Act of 1981 - Requires candidates for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States to be chosen by direct Presidential primaries conducted in each of the States on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May of each Presidential election year. Establishes guidelines for such primaries including: (1) qualification for primary ballots by region; (2) party identification; and (3) authorizing States to require filing fees up to a maximum of $2,500.
