Summary

Law Enforcement Cooperation Act of 2005 - Amends the federal criminal code to prescribe penalties to be imposed on any officer or employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who obtains knowledge in the course of official duty pertaining to a crime of violence that violates state or local law and who knowingly fails to promptly inform any chief law enforcement officer or local prosecuting official that such officer or employee reasonably should know has jurisdiction over the matter. Makes it the duty of such officer or employee to promptly notify the Attorney General that he or she has provided information.
