Summary

National Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy Act - Expresses the finds of Congress and declares the purpose of this Act. Instructs the Director of the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke to develop a neurological disease program to expand, intensify and coordinate the activities of the Institute. Specifies the scope of such program. Requires the Director to report annually on the accomplishments of the program. Empowers the Director to: (1) obtain the services of 50 experts; (2) acquire and maintain neurological disease equipment and facilities; and (3) enter into contracts to carry out the purposes of this Act. Authorizes appropriations of such sums as necessary to carry out the above objectives. Instructs the Director to develop six new centers for multiple sclerosis research and treatment and 14 new centers for other neurological and sensory diseases. Authorizes appropriations of $100,000,000, $125,000,000, and $150,00,000 for such purposes for fiscal years 1975 -1977. Empowers the Director to make grants to public entities for research in neurological disorders and authorizes to be appropriated such sums as necessary for such purposes.
