Summary

Financial Disclosure Act - Requires candidates for Federal office, Members of Congress, and officers and employees of the United States compensated at or above the rate of pay in effect for grade GS-16 of the General Schedule, or pay grade 0-7 in the case of members of the uniformed service to file annual reports containing a full and complete statement of: (1) the amount and source of each item of income or gift in excess of $500; (2) each asset which has a value in excess of $5,000; (3) any securities transactions in excess of $1,000; (4) all transactions in commodities in excess of $1,000 and (5) any purchase or sale of real property involving in excess of $5,000. Establishes criminal penalties for any person willfully failing to file a report required by this Act. Authorizes such reports to be available for inspection by members of the public.
