Summary
Gun Traffickers Pretrial Threat Assessment Act of 2000 - Amends the Federal criminal code to include certain firearms-related crimes (such as violation of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act prohibition against receiving or selling a stolen firearm or ammunition or against transferring a firearm knowing that it will be used to commit a crime of violence or drug trafficking crime, or violation of the Internal Revenue Code prohibition against obliterating a serial number on a firearm) to the list of crimes giving rise to a presumption of dangerousness for purposes of hearings on the release of defendants before trial.
