Summary
Public Lands Protection Act of 1981 - Authorizes specified parties to maintain an action, in the United States district court for the district in which the alleged violation occurred or is likely to occur, for declaratory and equitable relief against a party for the protection of the air, water, and other natural resources of any public land or the public trust therein. Sets forth procedures concerning the rebuttal of plaintiff's evidence and the showing of an affirmative defense. Permits the court to appoint a master or referee to take testimony and report his or her findings to the court. Describes the types of relief that may be granted by the court, including temporary and permanent equitable relief. Declares that this Act shall be supplementary to existing administrative and regulatory procedures provided by law.
