Summary

Cable Viewers Protection Act of 1990 - Requires the Federal Communications Commission to: (1) develop and publish a list of areas where enforcement of syndicated exclusivity regulations has eliminated programs crossing U.S. time zones; (2) exempt cable systems in such areas from being required to delete programming pursuant to such rules prior to January 1, 1992; (3) complete by January 1, 1991, a study of problems caused in cable programming in areas of time zone overlap; and (4) if necessary, revise the syndicated exclusivity rules to devise a new regulation which protects such rights of local broadcasters while still allowing residents to view programming affected by those rules.
