Summary
Teacher Recruitment and Retention Act of 2000 - Amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to revise the teacher student loan forgiveness program to: (1) require for eligibility three (rather than the current five) consecutive complete school years in a public elementary or secondary school as a teacher of mathematics, science, or foreign languages, or as a special education teacher; and (2) to increase from $5,000 to $10,000 the aggregate amount of an individual teacher's student loan obligation which may be forgiven.
