Summary
Mahoning River Clean-up Act - Authorizes the Secretary of the Army to undertake a study to assess the environmental condition of the Mahoning River in Ohio and Pennsylvania to determine the extent of environmental degradation caused by industrial pollution. Requires the Secretary to report study results to the Congress, along with a comprehensive protection plan. Authorizes the Secretary to carry out a five-year demonstration program to determine the effectiveness of promising technologies to remedy contaminated sediments in river beds. Requires priority consideration for the program's location to be given to the areas of northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Authorizes appropriations.
