Summary

Amends the Gun Control Act of 1968 to require that whoever uses or carries a firearm during the commission of any felony which may be prosecuted in Federal court shall, in addition to the punishment provided for the commission of such offense, be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than three years (the current terms are not less than one year nor more than ten years). Requires in the case of a second or subsequent conviction the imposition of a term of not less than three nor more than ten years (instead of not less than two nor more than 25 years). Stipulates that the imposition of any term of imprisonment: (1) may not be suspended; and (2) may not run concurrently with the sentence of such felony.
