Summary

Directs the Secretary of the Treasury to study and report to the Congress on the insurance industry in the United States: (1) assessing any adverse effects of any solvency problems of insurance companies on selected aspects of the national economy, including credit activities, Federal monetary policy, urban development and financial aid to commerce and industry (other than transportation); and (2) determining possible legislative or administrative actions that can be taken by Federal or State governments to avert and/or remedy solvency problems in the industry.
