Summary
Amends the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 to authorize the Administrator of the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration to make grants to volunteer fire departments which are unable to purchase necessary firefighting equipment because of the increased cost of such equipment as a result of inflation. Directs the Administrator, in making such grants, to give preference to departments serving areas of less than 10,000 population. States that grants made pursuant to this Act shall be in the amount which represents the increase in the cost of equipment since 1972 as the result of inflation.
